We think bigger is better , and if we can just get that promotion, all will be well with our souls. There's one fatal flaw to this mindset: it's all smoke and mirrors. Sometimes it looks as if, the better off they [nations] become, the bigger do they conceive the gap between what is actually their lot and what would be desirable, while in the poor countries large masses of people seem to be satisfied by merely surviving.
Since I never could figure out what I wanted to do when I grew up, I'm hedging my bets and working both sides of the street. Go ahead and do things, the bigger the better, if your fundamentals are sound.
Avoid procrastination. Do not quibble for an hour over things that might be decided in minutes. However, if the issue at stake is large, stay as long as the next man, but go ahead and do things. You think they've killed before? Because it has more padding? That's hitting below the belt. I'd bet mine, too, if it makes you feel better. Money, for me, is just to create bigger and better things.
A lot of guys in the deejaying world flaunt it, but I don't see any use in that. I don't need anything. I live in hotels. Most of my clothes I get for free. I like to invest in ideas. In people. Just because we have bigger dreams than others doesn't mean they don't have one. Sometimes we just too lazy to make it happen or are scared of failing. There is a trend today that would put a new robe on the prodigal son while he is still feeding hogs. Some would put the ring on his finger while he still in the pigsty.
Others would paint the pigsty and advocate bigger and better hog pens. All great things have small beginnings. The purpose of life is to be defeated by greater and greater things. Crises are nature's way of forcing change - breaking down old structures, shaking loose negative habits so that something new and better can take their place.
God knows best. We can trust Him with our lives as well as our eternal souls. He does not take something from us without filling that spot with something just as good and because it's from Him, even much better. Being rejected from something good just means that Allah is pointing you to something better.
Where ever I am I always find myself looking out the window wishing I was somewhere else. You always have to go for bigger and better things. If you plan to excel in big things, you have to develop the habit in the small ones. How often we expect big things from God without preparing for big things from him.
Even though I had a rough life I always had my mind on bigger and better things. If people looked at the stars each night, they'd live a lot differently. When you look into infinity, you realize that there are more important things than what people do all day. Dreams don't have deadlines.
I'm thinking of doing bigger and better things and having more fun with it. My first world title gave me the confidence to go and do bigger and better things. When you look at yourself from a universal standpoint, something inside always reminds or informs you that there are bigger and better things to worry about. Our point of view is, lets not be so elitist that we can't honor good, hard, dignified, ennobling work: people working with their hands, building things, putting up solar panels, weatherizing homes, working on organic agriculture, building wind farms.
We don't have robots in society, so somebody has to do that work. Lets make sure that the people who can use that work get a chance to do it.
I see that as a first step toward bigger and better things. I could never say I'm going to do bigger and better things because that would negate what I've already accomplished, and I don't want to do that. And it needed a lot of it. Most importantly, it needed a new roof. There was a worrying stain on the ceiling of my bedroom that had started out roughly the shape of Rhode Island, but now looked more like North Carolina.
Another few more days of rain and it was going to be Texas. You become a writer on a television show, and you see yourself doing bigger and better things, you don't wait till they tell you, "Here's the way to do bigger and better things," you start writing.
You start writing that material that you might be doing off to the side. B The bigger the better. A What size house do you want?
